Olympics go High-Def for the first time


With the Olympics set to start in days, Sky+ HD customers are getting ready for over 500 hours of unrivalled high definition (HD) coverage from BBC HD and Eurosport HD according to a news release from BSKYB 5 August 2008.

Sky+ HD customers will get the widest choice of HD coverage from: all of BBC One and BBC Two's output via BBC HD, which is nearly 300 hours; and over 230 hours from Eurosport HD, which will be broadcasting from the Games 24/7. 

For the first time UK viewers will be able to see the Olympics in HD with gloriously detailed coverage of sports like Archery, Badminton, Canoeing, Cycling, Diving, Fencing, Gymnastics, Sailing, Shooting, Table Tennis and Weightlifting.


BBC HD will broadcast from approximately 0200 to 1800 each day and Eurosport HD's live coverage will run from 0200 to 1700 daily, with highlights of the day's competitions shown at other times to complete the 24 hour line up.
